Easy 4th of July Firework Painting Activity for Toddlers

Supplies

• Empty toilet paper roll
• Child-safe washable paint (red, blue, and white)
• White cardstock or construction paper
• Paper plate for paint
• Smock or old T-shirt
• Baby wipes or damp cloth for easy cleanup

How to Make It

Step 1: Create Your Stamp

Using scissors, cut small slits about 2–3 inches deep all the way around one end of the toilet paper roll. Gently fold the strips outward to create a fringe.

Step 2: Pour the Paint

Add small amounts of red, white, and blue paint onto a paper plate.

Step 3: Stamp Fireworks

Dip the fringed end into the paint and press it onto the paper. Twist slightly as you lift to create beautiful fireworks bursts.

Step 4: Layer the Colors

Repeat with different colors across the page. Older toddlers can overlap fireworks to create a colorful nighttime sky.

Step 5: Let It Dry

Once dry, write the date on the back to save it as a keepsake.
